Creek Groups are the primary disciple-making engines of the church where the lost are saved, the saved are matured, and the matured are multiplied.

Groups are where the church is practiced, meaning spiritual gifts are exercised, love is demonstrated, hospitality is practiced, and the Word is applied. What unites believers is not necessarily a common life stage or similar interests, but rather a common confession and devotion to Jesus Christ.

Purpose

Creek Groups are the primary disciple-making engines of the Church:

  • God’s Word is applied
  • Prayer and Hospitality are practiced
  • Disciples are made locally and to the Ends of the Earth

“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47

Rhythms

Creek Groups are a biblical approach to our mission, where we see people of different ages and stages, geographically based, gather weekly to seek truth and encourage each other.

Week 1, 2, & 4: Scripture & Prayer

This is a meeting where we fellowship, discuss the word of God, and encourage each other through prayer.

Week 3: Gather

This is a chance for neighbors, co-workers, and friends to come and experience a taste of our community. This is about having fun, eating good food, and reaching out to new people.

Sermon Discussion Guides Better Together

Hebrews 10:22-24

"...let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,..."

Main Point: We need one another to help us do the verbs of the faith.

John 17:20-21

"I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me."

Main Point: We’re made in His triune image. Evangelism through image-bearing.

Acts 2:36-47

""Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."

Main Point: There is an ancient recipe for the people of God in every culture and every age.
