Creek Kids

On any given Sunday morning, the main lobby of Currey Creek Church is bustling with children checking in for Creek Kids while their parents head to ‘big church’. Once the dust settles and everyone is in their classes, Creek Kids staff and volunteers are caring for, teaching, and discipling the children of our church. From birth through fifth grade, children are taken on a journey through the Bible in three years using our Christ-centered curriculum, the Gospel Project.

At the core of our Creek Kids program is our volunteers. On any given Sunday we have no less than 50 church members serving in classrooms. Volunteers of all stages of life are walking alongside our children to teach them and show them the love of Jesus. It’s a special experience watching children grow, learn, and commit to following Jesus, and our volunteers have a unique window into this transformation.

In our classroom we have five foundational elements that are at the core of our ministry: praise and worship, Scripture memory, Bible teaching, small group discussions, and a take home for parents. It is our desire for children to know God and His Word. We also strive to walk alongside families by engaging and equipping them to disciple their children at home, as they are the primary disciple-makers.

It is our desire as a Creek Kids team to plant seeds of truth in the one short hour we see each child on Sunday morning. These seeds are woven into all that we do on a Sunday morning, and it is our hope that our families are engaging with their children each week about Bible stories and Christ connections. Ultimately we pray these seeds of truth will manifest into a transformational relationship with Jesus.
