John's July Article:
Dear Church Family,
To say it has been an unusual year is an understatement of epic proportions. What we have taken for granted cannot be taken for granted! Some of those who have been adversely affected by all of this are those in our Student Ministry, specifically our seniors. As you might have read, our Student Ministry has had a lasting effect on our seniors. Bret, Logan, and Kristene have done and continue to do a fantastic job of loving, serving, and leading our students.
As these students go off to a new area of life, new challenges will surface, new spiritual attacks will arise, and hard decisions will need to be made. Yet our God is faithful and true! Our blessed Redeemer is there to comfort and guide! The Holy Spirit comes in fresh waves to strengthen and establish! These students have heard the Word of God. They have had the foundation of Christ and the Apostles laid before them. They are equipped to fight the good fight. How do I know? I know the teaching and instruction that they have been exposed to. It is sure, strong, and Spirit led. It is straight from the source, ad fontes, the reformers would say.
Having said that, these graduates still need our prayers and support. They still need a place to come home to that is steady, when everything else seems to be in flux. I’m proud to have known these students. They come from good stock. It will be exciting to see what the Lord will do in and through them in the next few years. Congratulations Class of 2020!
In Christ,
John
