We remain committed to investing in God’s Kingdom, not our own. Currey Creek will continue to be a church that plants churches, building a strong and healthy foundation from which future church planters can be sent. This is ultimately about His Kingdom, not Currey Creek’s. Currey Creek is Christ’s Church.

Jesus declared, “I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18). It does not belong to a pastor, elders, or staff—it belongs to Him. Because of this, we believe it is vital that we steward and invest in Currey Creek faithfully. Every person is created by God, in His image, and for His purposes. As His people, Currey Creek is called to reach, invite, share, and care for those in Boerne—not only within our walls, but also the lost, the unchurched, and those who are searching in our community.

Invest Goals:

Over the last year and a half, the Executive Team and Elders have been developing a long-term staffing strategy for Currey Creek. This strategy includes replacing key vacated pastoral positions, hiring new pastoral positions as needed, and addressing other staffing needs as our church continues to grow.

One critical factor that we have learned from planting churches is that we lose key volunteers, staff, and leaders. We want to develop and implement a plan to develop leaders across ministry lines so that when we plant in the future, we have a “next man up” strategy in place.

Dr. Free’s dissertation focused on developing a staffing strategy to support a church-planting residency program. This method of acquiring and developing church planters will allow us to retain key staff members and also send out well-equipped pastors.

Growth will happen whether we are proactive or not. As you can see, the new worship facility and offices are only a component part of an overall strategy to facilitate growth, develop disciples, and plant healthier churches. The building will enable us to accommodate growth while building a stronger foundation for future church planting.
