My Story of Redemption and Adoption

Your personal testimony is not a story about something YOU did. It is a story about what GOD HAS done, IS doing, and WILL do. Salvation is an activity of God.

Use the following prompts to craft your personal story of how God called you, saved you, changed you, and dwells within you. Then, email it to us at story@curreycreek.com. We would love to know your story.

Conviction & The Reality of Your Former Self
If you are a follower of Christ, at some point, and at God’s prompting, you began to inquire about God and who He was. This led to some level of initial conviction of sin. That conviction was an invitation from the God of the Universe to live in relationship with Him.

How did you learn of God, his holiness, and your sinfulness? How did that lead to conviction in your heart?

Repentance
Your repentance based on that conviction was your acceptance of that invitation with the acknowledgement that you were a sinner, lost in your sin, and unable to save yourself, and that only the sacrificial death of a sinless Christ on the cross could serve as substitute for the penalty your sins demanded.

What was God doing in your heart, mind, and life when you realized that he was the true God, calling you into relationship with him, and that only he could forgive your sins? How did you respond to Him?

New Life in Christ
Your belief and confession in the person and work of Jesus Christ, was a transformation, a rebirth, an old man passing away, a new man coming to life. You are the same physical person, living in an entirely new spiritual reality.

How is your life different? How is your heart different? What is your hope for eternity? How does your eternal hope change the way you live out your life here on Earth?

Sanctification
You now follow Christ as an example for life, and your life, as Christ’s was, should fly in the face of culture and expose the pride of life. You have been given the Holy Spirit to walk alongside you, to prompt you, nudge you, speak to you, continue to convict you.

How has God stretched you? How has God tested and refined you? How has God set you apart? How are you continually growing in Christ-likeness?

Fruit
Your life in Christ is a continual sewing and reaping. Everything you do is an investment in the eternal. The fields, ripe for the harvest are your place of joyful labor. Grafted into the vine, you produce fruit.

What has gone done through you that has yielded fruit for the Kingdom of God?
